Mozgovoy V. "Return: How it was in Quebec"

Eksmo - 2009 - 192 pages.

The alchemy of a miracle is not calculable, the moment of victory is unique, and yesterday quickly becomes history. On May 18, 2008, when the Russian team took gold at the World Championships,
Hockey was returned to the people. They had been waiting for this and dreaming about it for a decade and a half, a generation had grown up that did not experience the victorious era, and reality reminded of the great hockey power only as an echo. The return took place in the year of the 100th anniversary of the International Hockey Federation, at the first ever World Championship in Canada, in an incredibly intense final match with the founders of the game and the main favorites. There are never so many coincidences at once, but this is exactly what happened on the ice of the Quebec Coliseum, marking, I would like to believe, a turning point in the history of Russian hockey.
We are reminded of this in this book, which records the key moments of the 2008 World Cup. This is not an analysis of the tournament, not a detailed story about its main characters - this is a first approximation response, several dozen moments snatched from the thick of events and giving an idea of how it was, a close-up of the victory.
The album is rare, if only because for 15 years there was no reason for such a publication. Now it is.
